Should I use a co-signer?

A co-signer is recommended if you have no or poor credit history. However, you want to make sure your co-signer has good credit. Using a co-signer with good credit will increase your chances of being approved for the credit card or loan you need. Be aware that they share the liability of the loan with you. If you are in good standing with your loan, both you and your co-signer will see positive marks on your credit report. If your in bad standing with your loan, it will look bad not only for you, but for the co-signer as well.
